Cliff Dwellers

$300.00

12 × 12 x 1.5

Cliff Dwellers presents a dynamic coastal vista where the restless sea meets steadfast cliffs.

I am painting the tension between the huge movement of the sea against stillness.

I have used deep shades of multi shades of blue, the white foam and splashes to animate the ocean’s swirling currents. The crisp white foam to captures the moment that the waves collide with jagged rock formations.

Beyond the turbulent shoreline, I show a silhouette of dark trees stretching along the horizon, grounding the scene with quiet solidity. Gentle hills recede into muted blue tones, adding depth and layering to the landscape.

In the upper portion I have created a soft sky. I think this balances the rough and tough cliffs. I have chosen delicate pastel washes of pink and blue, signaling the calm transition of dawn.

This interplay of vigorous water and serene atmosphere showcases the power and tranquility I find  in coastal environments where I live.
