The Strong Silent Type
My intention is to show the resilience of a Madrone at the seashore with wind and waves continually present.I painted this scene to capture the essence of the madrone tree. The tree's multiple twisted trunks, twisted branches and their extension upward and outward tells who this madrone is. The madrone has many shades of orange, brown, gold and even green when seen up close. I have detailed the leaves with several shades of green, gold and brown. No berries and no flowers are on this tree. This is a summer madrone. I think of this tree as the strong and silent type.
